Presented by Dr Kylie Delsolar (Kylie’s Family Dental). How to manage common dental presentations in the ED including dental trauma.

Managing Ophthalmology Emergencies in the ED

Presented by Associate Professor Kristopher Rallah-Baker (Sunshine Coast Ophthalmologists at Noosa). How to manage common ophthalmology presentations in the ED including ophthalmic history taking, corneal emergencies, eye trauma, sudden loss of vision and more.

Fracture casting Workshop using ‘Dynacast’ in the ED

Supported by Essity. A practical experience on how to splint upper and lower limb fractures in the ED, including fracture distal radius/ulna, 5th metacarpal (boxers’ fracture), POSI, U-Slab & Lower limb casting.

    Karl is an Advanced Practice credentialed pharmacist (stage 3) with clinical pharmacy experience in a wide range of clinical areas including cardiology, general medicine and care of the elderly. Karl's research interests lie primarily in the clinical use of clozapine, and anticoagulants.

    Associate Professor Kris. Rallah-Baker

    Associate Professor Kris. Rallah-Baker is Australia’s first and currently only Indigenous ophthalmologist. As a proud Yuggera/Warangu/Wiradjuri man, Dr Rallah-Baker is making a footprint not only on the Sunshine Coast, but also in the Northern Territory. Kris Rallah-Baker provides comprehensive ophthalmic care delivered in a culturally safe, compassionate and professional manner.

  • Steven Edwards

    Steven Edwards

    Nurse Practitioner

    Steven is a Nurse Practitioner currently working in the emergency fast track area at Nambour General Hospital. He has a nursing background in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and remote area practice in Cape York. Steven returned to the Sunshine Coast in 2010, gaining Nurse Practitioner endorsement in 2022. Steven has an ongoing interest in the effective use of sphenopalatine blocks, and undertook a scoping review during his training.

  • Dr Paul Frank

    Fellow of the College of Pain Medicine | Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists

    Dr Paul Frank is a pain specialist and anaesthetist with over 19 years experience in chronic pain medicine on the Sunshine Coast. Dr Frank is known nationally as a lead educator in pain procedures and is often asked to travel across Australia to teach other pain specialists and trainees these techniques and skills.

    Dr Jess Mills is an experienced children’s emergency specialist who currently works at both the Queensland Children’s Hospital and The Sunshine Coast University Hospital. She is driven and excited to help improve the care of sick and injured children wherever they may be, especially those outside of our major urban hospitals, and hopes you don't fall asleep during her talks!

    Head and Neck Surgeon | Paediatric + Adult ENT Surgeon | BSc, MBBS, FRACS (OHNS), PG Dip HPE

    David is an ENT Surgeon with a special interest in Paediatric ENT and Head and Neck Surgical Oncology. He is currently a faculty member of The University of Queensland Medical School and proudly served as Acting Director of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital ENT Department in 2017-18. David is the Chair of the multi-disciplinary Head and Neck Cancer team at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital

    Louise Webber

    Director & Nurse Practitioner Skin Integrity & Wound Management | Masters Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) | BA (Hons), RN | Grad Cert Wound Management

    Louise Webber has over 25 years’ experience in wound management. She has worked across several public hospitals and Community Nurse Settings both in Australia and overseas. Louise was previously an Honorary Clinical Fellow for Australian Catholic University and continues to participate in research project with a leading Queensland University. She is passionate about wounds and striving for best practice and has participated in several international working groups for Pressure Injuries and Leg ulcers.
